We had an awesome night of teaching God’s word, competitive games, and a fabluous meal. The scrimmage games are well underway and all the teams seem to be evenly matched. Our coaching staff has been doing a great job of coaching and encouraging their teams. I have some exciting news to share in the weeks about an exciting partnership we are developing with Compassion International.

Hello Friends of Destiny, our theme for 2012 is “Accelerate to your Destiny” We are certainly seeing a acceleration of ministry like never before. Please keep us in your prayers as we advance forward in reaching young people and families for God’s glory. The next two weeks we will have scrimmage games and then we will launch the eight week tournament on February 9th. We are seeing exponential growth which means an increase in number or size, at a constantly growing rate. We are also seeing a hunger for God and an exciting engagement of studying God’s holy word.

We engage students in God’s Word and I am amazed at how receptive the young people have been to God’s Word. I see a true hunger for God’s Word that I am excited about. I am also thrilled about how our coaching staff has responded to the demand. We are seeing more young people at Destiny than I have seen in a long time. Please pray for us as we endeavor to share the love of Christ with this community.

This is exactly what we are experiencing at Destiny on Thursday nights.

I am very thankful for the the coaches who commit their time and are dedicated in seeing the young people succeed in Christ.

We have anticipated the start of our weekly outreach as Queen Palmer for several weeks. I must say I am very excited this outreach simply because of the salvation of souls and the growth of the young people during the course of the year. We will get an early jump start on our weekly challenge and tournament therefore make sure to get the word out about the outreach. We will have an cap of 100 participants and the deadline for registration will so teams can be formed at an earlier date.

Team Destiny Outreach meets at 1921 East Yampa street at Queen Palmer Elementary school.
Thursday’s nights at 6:00pm until 8:30pm
The purpose is to encourage young people to pursue God’s best for their lives and make better choices throughout their life.

I added an image of Brenden Haywood simply because I am godly proud that God has blessed his career at North Carolina and has blessed him this past year with a NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks. Brenden was apart of the unshakable youth group that Vickie and I started in 1991. Brenden has a praying Mom who has prayed him through many difficult times. I am glad that despite the challenges that Brenden faced he continued to follow his purpose. I hope to have Brenden join us for one of our camps in the near future.

We have had a blast this summer, I wanted to say a huge thank you to all our partners, volunteers, and coaches who made our summer outreaches a success.

Now is the time to gear up for the fall, winter, and spring outreaches. We will launch our weekly outreach at Queen Plamer Elementary and out mentoring outreach at Vista Ridge High School this coming October.

Training for coaches and volunteers begins in September on Thursday’s nights at 6:30pm in the youth building room 1 & 2. Your prayers and financial support has been vital to the success of all our outreaches.

Our first annual leadership camp was an awesome opportunity for young leaders to grow in their faith a in Christ, “A quantum leap” growth. These leaders had a chance to hear from experts in the feild. Subjects covered were abstinence, Budgeting, investing, wisdom principles from The book of Proverbs, business concepts from three local business owners, and the five essential elements of leadership. What a week we had a blast and I want to say thank you to all the families who gave their young person an opportunity to be pioneers with destiny and setting a high standard of love for God and a commitment to excellence. I am truly thankful for the leadership of Pastor Al and Mrs. Norma for their support and encouragement in helping us launch five camps this summer. We had an amazing summer and wanted to also thank all our friends and partners of Destiny who made this summer possible. God Bless and remember “You have a Destiny”.
